Jyoti Ranhawa - European Tour Player
"I felt my game stagnating in 2008, I was hitting the ball poorly and my misses
were going both ways which isn't good. I knew I had to do something to get back
on track.
I met up with Colin in Las Vegas in December 2008. We spent 3 days working together.
Straight away I liked what he was saying, he tried to get me back to hitting the
ball with my body and not with my hands. That's how I always felt when I played
my best golf. We also worked a bit on putting and short game, small things but
I could feel the difference right away.
The results were good straight away. I returned home to India and won an Indian
tour event with 19 under par. 2 months later I had my best finish on the European
Tour 2nd in the Malaysian open. 2 weeks after that I won the Thailand open on the
Asian tour.
Thanks to Colin my game is coming back. Its early days but I
am really excited about the future."
Cameron McDairmaid - Champion Blind Golfer
"Colin and I have worked closely together since 2003, in which time I have made
significant progress as a player. He has helped me with all aspects of my game
from putting to driving. Things are kept nice and simple and I always leave a lesson
with Colin having a really clear picture in my mind of what I need to work on to improve.
In the last few years I have achieved my dreams as a blind golfer and this couldn't
have been done without Colins help."
Colin says "Cameron is the 2009 British Open Blind Champion and won the World Bilnd Intvitational in 2003. He's also the winner of the Scottish Blind Order of Merit in 2005, 2006, 20007 and 2009."
Lloyd Saltman -Professional Golfer
"I first met Colin when I was 13 years old at coaching with the Lothians
Golf Association. We didn't do much in the early days, just the odd group lesson
in the winter.
At the age of 16 and playing to a handicap of 2 i decided I needed a full time
coach if I was going to reach my full potential. I travelled up to the Braid Hills
with my father and we asked Colin if he would work with me. Colin agreed to take
me on board and that very day we set out a 5 year plan with the ultimate goal of
becoming the No.1 amateur in the UK and playing in the Walker Cup.
Over the next few years the coaching became much more intense. I would have a
lesson almost every week and we played many rounds of golf together. Every area
of the game was covered in detail.
Did I achieve my goals? Well just over 3 years later I won the silver medal at
the open finishing tied 15th. My handicap was +4 and I was ranked the no 1 amateur
in the world.
Colin is still my coach and I can honestly say that he has been a massive factor
in my success as a golfer."
Colin says "Lloyd Saltman is one of the most successful amateurs in British golf. He is a former world No.1 amateur and 2 time Walker cup player. His tourmament victories include Brabazon trophy, Lytham trophy, Irish Amateur, St Andrews Links and Open silver medal."
Alex Graham - Amateur Golfer
"After years playing golf, shooting scores in the high 90's, and forever
searching for my balls in the right hand rough. I thought, like the majority
of weekend golfers, I was destined to be a habitual slicer for the rest of my
golfing life.
However all that changed after a visit to the Braids Golf Centre where I read
about Colin and plucked up the courage to book a lesson. I am sure like many
other amateur golfers I felt a bit intimidated at the thought of booking a
lesson with a PGA pro who coaches top players on the European tour, however I
decided to take the step, and as a result my golf game has been totally transformed.
Through Colin's excellent interpersonal skills, and extensive knowledge of the
golf swing we went about rebuilding my swing and after four months the change
was incredible, Colin articulated clearly and concisely exactly what I need to
work on and after a few lessons I started hit the ball with a draw. Over the
following weeks my scores also started to tumble. From previously shooting in
the high 90's I found myself regularly shooting low eighties, then in the high
seventies and once managed to shoot a 69, which was the best score of my life.
So if like me, you want to improve and you are prepared to listen and practice what
you have been taught, book yourself a lesson with Colin as I guarantee he will
definitely take your game to the next level."
Andrew Coltart - European Tour Player
"I've been coached by the 'best'.... Harmon, Leadbetter and Cowan and still
I was playing poorly.
I decided to contact my old room mate from the tour, Colin Brooks. I knew he
was making a name for himself as one of the best coaches around.
We went back to basics working on my posture and my backswing. Even after the
first lesson I could really feel the difference.
Colin has given me my old swing back. He takes the time to work out the individual
pupil and adjusts his coaching philosophy to get the best results possible.
He has a great eye for the swing, a natural approach and a clever way of listening
and getting his ideas through to even the most stubborn of brains.
My confidence has returned and I feel I am hitting the ball better than ever.
I am looking forward instead of back now.
Thanks Colin."
Mark Kedar - Amateur Golfer
"Colin has been instrumental in the significant improvement seen in my game
since I first met him over 10 years ago. During that time his coaching has transformed
me from a golfer that struggled to break 80 to one who now consistantly scores
in the low 70's and one who has won his local clubs strokeplay championship
twice in the last 5 years.
Colin's approach to coaching is very much tailored to the individual and his
ability to translate the technical aspects of the game into practical and easily
understandable concepts is one of his key strengths. He also has a great ability
to think outside the box as demonstrated by his solution to the problems I was
having with my short game a couple of years ago. I haven't looked back since he
recommended that I switch to putting and chipping cack-handed!
The fact that Colin is now working with a number of European Tour players is testament
to his ability and growing reputation."
Dr Karl Morris - Sports Psychologist
"During the course of my work I get a chance to see lots of golf coaches. Some are good, some are ok and some are frankly poor. It is very rare that I come across someone who is outstanding. Yet I can say without hesitation that in my opinion Colin Brooks is one of the very few outstanding coaches in the UK today. His ability to look at all aspects of the game, his willingness to learn and his own personal playing experiance mean that if you are really serious about your game you could do no better than put your future progress in his very safe hands."
Colin says "Dr Karl Morris is one of the top sports psychologists working in the game today. His clients include Darren Clarke, Lee Westwood and Graeme McDowell."
